A painting it was on the wall Of beauty which possessed it all The finest detail one could see Just living there to ever be Its makeup was of sculptured skill Of passion that no life could kill Of dream that let a soul release A legacy of masterpiece Among the colours, blood and tears Its undercoat of trial and years Came to touch the living eye Which saw its love and came to cry A work of love, one can’t explain A work of passion, love and pain A gift that we are blessed to see A painting that’s still touching me I thought what skill, the gift of one Who passion shared till love was done Still sharing something from the years Before the beauty disappears And then I felt as if possessed And yes indeed a little blessed To find in moment that had been A treasure only few had seen And on and on this gift will last Until the many years have passed And of it I will write in pen Until our passions meet again |
