The story was simple: Katrina loved Jazz... The cymbals, the sax Were all merely symbols. The eye of the eagle Met the eye of the storm. The cry of the people For the city deformed Was the new wave of sound That rose up to drown- Out the drums and the bass. She was dazzled and dazed By the blues, by the riffs Of the weeping guitars, By the crumbling roofs, And the howling alarms, By New Orleans in water - By this modern Atlantis That was soaked in a tear And washed off the atlas, By the scene on the canvas Where the clouds were smeared. The skyline is bruised. New colors are smeared And splashed on the canvas. Great verse especially enjoyed! M |

An enjoyable read. Katrina didn't drown the New Orleans spirit. Already, I see signs of the artists and musicians revealing the heart and soul of it back out for the world to see and hear. |

Katrina loved Blues... A new wave of sound Was rising to drown- Out the drums and the bass... This was just an incredibly accurate account of the greed of that hurricane. So great to see your work again, you have been missed sorely. To see real beauty - look with your heart. |

Haven't seen your work gracing these blue pages for quite some time. You've come back with a very fine, ~ and timely, piece of poetry. Very well done! EA |
