Yes, I have felt pain before
And took it like dark coffee
Which lasts the rest of the day
Bitter and over bearing

But then, some how I met you,
Confused, I couldn't take it.
I left you with all my pain
And now it hurts to see you

So I wonder the question,
Just how could you still love me?
How can you care for me still,
The bitterness in my heart

My fear now is I'm a pet
Bruised and battered just for you
So no matter what you play
The deaf woman hears beauty

Sometimes people can see past any bitterness ...
    or at least what might make it such

   so many ways to make a good connection between
       loving friends.

                 ... and I prefer my coffee black!
