What I need,
What I want,

These two words,
do they give the cure?
or make the sickness
worse?,

if needs are met,
money, security,
food, shelter,

Where is the happiness?

If want is examined,
like-minded, respect,
love, morals,

Happiness?

Can I have both?
why is there one,
without the other?

Half a life is
not a full one?

I should be happy
with needs,
but I am not,
maybe I would be happy
with want?

Want doesn't pay the bills,
need and want, want and need,

Love doesn't feed the stomach,
but love makes me happy,

Money doesn't buy love,
but it feeds the stomach,

Love can be needs
supplied, but supplied
in haste, it is not,

Want is the answer,
want is love, and
I will die starving,

but knowing,

I had love in my heart!

Wow, I see where you are coming from. Well, when you need something, is it not safe ot say that you want it too? If only because you need it? That is what your poem expresses I think. And you choose whatever one you want, or even need the most. This is great!
