So I'm putting down my shield now, the battles long gone away. The war cries of yesterday, lead into the laughter of today. Trying to ignore the repetition, the pattern etched all too clearly in my skin. Wanting...Wishing to get away from this never ending sin. Attempting to keep my distance, smiling, while trying not to cry inside. I fear this confrontation that happens all life long, No matter what I do, no matter how much I try, there's no way to erase this perpetual pain. It's over...for now... But I've heard shots in the distance, that warning carries on, explaining how long I have before I must pick up my shield again. I know that no matter how many times my shield is bruised, no matter how many times my concious feels a wound, this continual self-proclaimed war... will never ever end. |

it is not what we do during the battle but what you take from the battle and how you apply it to yourself. Nothing happens without a reason, the trick is to understand that reason and grow from the experience. "heroes are born when trumpets fade" |

Only old soldiers With nothing left to do Continue their annual rendezvous With fate that failed To take them when At least they felt And hearts were young And children play At war and dream Things will change Because it’s Spring While Autumn’s Wiser veterans Sigh And drink their wine |
