WANTED: A few good women. Rosie Riveters needed for multiple urgent job openings. Must enjoy windy and wet conditions with long hours and sleepless nights (sorry, no night clubs or dancing available); possibly poor living quarters available without modern conveniences, (definetly without luxury items) for your weary bruised and battered body. Long manicured polished nailers need not apply! In other words, good pay, lots of overtime, but nowhere to spend all the money you earn. Applications can be picked up at your nearest disaster headquarters. Hurry! Positions available immediately in many southern US cities. |

Yanno, Donna, the rebuild jobs should first be offered to displaced homemakers, those who were evacuated but who might have the skills to do the cleanup and rebuild jobs. Women or men, it matters not, as long as the ones who NEED the jobs who were displaced get first choice. MHO.... Job Corps trainees? Habitat for Humanity volunteers? yes, those people will be needed. But please, just no fat-cat construction firms that don't haver a real FAMILY type connection to the south. Am I being 'political' about this? Maybe. But let's not forget that someone WILL make $ from all this mess. Let's let it be the ones who were hurt worst, if possible. Nope, I ain't runnin for political office. |

I originally typed this whole big rant about how *@( up the situation is over there, but I figured I will avoid starting a fire storm in here... Nicely written piece. |

A gifted write to describe exactly the needs of the AL-MS-LA-TX area. How much work and how long will it take? You do go right to the core! Hugs Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |
