Slow Suicide Of My Heart

Well its how my poetry began
Inspired by a close friend
The same friend now silent
My writing is reaching the end

My heart numbed by the shock
Its like losing my soulmate
Lost as my muse disappears
Losing appeared to be my fate

I bet they smile from ear to ear
Grinning happily in Oregon
I hear winners are grinners
So its no wonder mine as gone

He would do nothing to hurt me
Words they wrote long ago
Seems they forget promises
As silence is the cruelest blow

Yes much like hanging in limbo
Whilst awaiting for the rope
I have lost not only my muse
They have taken away my hope

Like a slow suicide of my heart
Trails of tears start to spill
As numbing inside I have felt
Without the need of the fatal pill

Brings sad, sweet memories of someone dear to me. He encouraged my poetry and helped me improve. Now his pen is silent and it is missed so much.
