I Watched I watched the light descend to dim Descending down horizons rim And there it lowered out of sight Bringing on the dark of night A million stars appeared the sky A milky way to flood my eye And silence took command the scene My mind was full of awes morphine Sometimes I ride a phantoms course Among the stars and at a loss Groping in a fantasy Within a breeze of ecstasy I sail this course until the dawn Where stars turn into dew of morn And there within the light of way I journey through another day So which is pith and which is myth And which the hand of the blacksmith |
