What's past, it had not happened yet, these dim lights hide the older scars. The new ones can be made to fade, depending on your local bar. No expectations, none implied, mid vain attempts to dissappear. A friendly voice, a pretty face, what happened's not exactly clear. Somewhere between what's been rehearsed things take a turn and, we connect. Some preconceptions are replaced by more than what we might expect. And, for a time, the phrases said we dare again to take as true. What's past it had not happened then but, given time these will fade too. Those way, way, too familiar lines on juke-boxes in every place, or superficial wounds that bleed we do our best to just erase like none of it had happened yet. No memories had yet been made. I order up another round for given time, these too will fade. |

"The new ones can be made to fade, depending on your local bar." I love this line, my local bar is a bit too good for that particular use "I order up another round for given time, these too will fade." And what a finish. I look foward to your next post. "And the sun went down, and the stars came out far over the summer sea, But never a moment ceased the fight of the one and the fifty-three." |

Tris, Thanks much, I'm glad you liked. Doc Sunshine, That is undoubtedly one of the nicest things that has been said about my writing in a long time. I just don't know what I do to deserve people like you. Doc |

Those new scars . . . superficial though they might be that's where most my nerves reside and if the light's too dim to see it is only from you they hide Thanks, Doc glider |
