Come softly
silver rain, come
softly now my thoughts,
heavy as September's reddest hue
in hours shed these patched conceits
of dry leaves, curled
along the Summer road,
become some vast appalling wilderness,

your hands, an Autumn dream,
casts a thick red sap
upon the swollen planes of my body,
crouched in a stealth pathos
of gray leopard cells,
as they well, wild with faith
and thirsty prayer,

come away
from these stale Summer breads,
for your kisses
are a much softer fate
than wisdom,
come
the ease of rain, softly
silver rain,

stay the solemn night
with leaves, bedeck
my perilous flesh,
let it ascend
its gray latitudes
in blizzards of dogwood,
kindling songs on paperchains

my hands,
string an alphabet
of silence, tied
by hours of rope,
inviolate, palms
clasped to glass, two
hummingbirds, quiet

stilled,joined,unbind
to close into fists, come Fall,
the season of bearing,
the rich red earth darkens and drinks
our tears, and now, never
the ease of rain, falling,
come softly, softly silver rain.

Picture me clapping

This reads like part of a beautiful song Mari, honest!

come away
from these stale Summer breads,
for your kisses
are a much softer fate
than wisdom, come
the ease of rain, softly
silver rain,

and this, oh mercy me!

bedeck
my perilous flesh,
let it ascend
its gray latitudes
in blizzards of dogwood,
kindling songs on paperchains

You are surely a sight for these very sore eyes this evening.  Brava to you!

I am hoping that this a new one coming out?

I can't resist giving you the plug you so much deserve by linking the poets here to some of your books that are sold at Amazon.com.

smile.

I asked today, some directly, but mostly just a silent plea that Pip be my place of poetry sanctuary again.

I'd be much remiss if I didn't thank you for this stunning contribution to what I will long remember as a perfect day.

thank you

come softly, my love
lie with me in the remnants
of summer, lost
paradise sinking
beyond channels
our minds cannot perceive
as the ice queen
her bony fingers
lay claim to the back of my throat

i breathe
and am stifled
by your presence
am humbled beneath
the downy fir
of your skin
where I take refuge
this very morning
the last of light
before your sister
retreats and introduces
another
with flowing psychedelic tress
to remind us
just how short life is.

Suzie, your response was awesome!  You both can write out nature like no tomorrow!

Wow that picture says a ton!  (Now wasn't that the most poetic thing to say?)  I still am a picture with the words kind of girl you know?  Art not only helps visually take me where my mind should be, but keeps it on track.

I loved Nan's comment, right on!

Came back to save this - but you didn't answer me - is this a new book?  Or do I just bust a gasket waiting?

Going to archives to find that duet - don't remember you and Suzie writing together - but then age is getting me.

Awesome write this - up it goes for another round.

g~ thanks for stopping in on this~

Sharon~yes, yes...I added the graphic after I posted the poem...glad you caught it...and as for the book, the blackbook of hours, is a journal I am keeping...but I have not submitted it for publication...and don't intend to at this time.  My latest book however, The FairyTale Journals will be available in about 8 weeks...)I'll annouce the date as soon as the Publisher gives it to me in the annoucements & links forum) and it holds some of my best work (at least in my editor's opinion).

Cienwyn~thanks for the peek~
