I have watched you       from afar
sifting sands delicately
through fingers
trying to capture
dreams

while lingering
at the edges
of my tranquility
before slowly
settling in
to feel the soothe
of cool
as you       glide
in thought;

     in my essence
      you become lost

    oblivious
to all things,
and time

for these precious
moments I hold you

you are mine

and we,
   entwined

are now as one

I embrace
your spirit
within
   the deep of me
       as you drift
         upon my seas.

yesterday is gone
tomorrow doesn't exist
