Forced into lifelong servitude Ousted from childhoods grace Ripped from joyous wonderment Gripped with such responsibility Old man, like his father, he's become Treating life as it should never be The treacherous burden it now is Envying those other souls Never again savoring the grace of youth Yesterday's long since gone Or any rememberance of such joy Under the prison he's made himself The father he must now become Hopelessness against his now adult life Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death. |
