. . I enjoyed making love to you last night.
I enjoyed holding you close to me and feeling The softness of your skin blend with mine As it had so many times before.
Your hair was different than I recall - A bit blonder, perhaps And a contented lifestyle may have added A pound or two Here and there I don't care.
Surely you could sense how I'd missed you By how I kissed you And touched you And clung to you.
I knew it was you
Even though you looked at me strangely As I whispered your name I wasn't fooled.
I knew it was you because It was your name on my lips And your voice in my ear And your thoughts in my heart.
I don't know why you looked at me so strangely In the early morning light Or why you left so quickly Without turning without speaking
But I know you'll come back. You always do.
Your hair may be a different color Perhaps you'll change perfume. Perhaps I may not notice As you walk into the room.
But as I lay beside you, One fact will still hold true That, every time that I make love, I'll be making love to you. [This message has been edited by Balladeer (09-22-2007 06:09 PM).]

Oh Michael, you have such a wonderful, earnest voice that truly "feels" all you write and really convinces and touches the readers heart, dearest friend, I'm soooooooo happy to finally hear your voice, as I have begun revealing mine too in Christmas lyric posts, yay! (angel friendship hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, this song is destined to win your lovers heart over and over and make her fall in love with you all over again, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing!

Darn, I don't have sound here (yet) in my aunt's house. The words are beautiful as always, just have to wait till I'm home again to listen to your voice.

LOL Me too, Kacy!! I was thinking the same thing. LOL I knew the voice couldn't be as serious as the poem, but it is....all of it is beautiful, Deer!!
I know ya'll get tired of hearing me say things about Gary, but it is all the truth!! And, this poem reminds me of some he's written to me....so romantic, and I LOVE it ALL!! Huggers, Ethel

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more... reading the wonderful poem, hearing you read the poem... serenity's frustration over not being able to hear the audio... or your glee at her frustration! LOL

I shouldn't have been so rude...this was indeed great Bally....I'll write a hundred times on the blackboard, "I'm sorry I was so rude to Balladeer in reply to his wonderful poem"...I'm sorry I was so rude to Balladeer in reply to his wonderful poem"...okay, twice...but I wasn't really that rude and I think you did a great job on this fantasy....

Really enjoyed that Michael! I am hoping you will take some of those great oldies and put them to voice so others may enjoy hearing them the way they should be read - by you!
Lovely! Happy Holidays to you and Fran. I do send a healing hug to you both after this horrible year and will wish for a better 2006. Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

Maybe you can talk Kit into doing it with you on your collaborations, who knows? Would be wonderful!
The Widow's Walk for one - but then I am partial to that one. Oh, oh, and the one about the letters too!

Well, Alison, a funny thing happened on the way to the forums. The site which allowed one to save audio files which could be attached to poems or whatever was sold or taken over by...a porn site! After getting a few complaints for the link, I checked it out and, sure enough, the link led to pictures that definitely violated PIP standards, although they were quite tit-ilating! I had to do some fast editing to remove the link from several poems, where I had included audio files!
Sorry.....
