Darkness spreads her tentacles …across the Kansas plain, Shadowed arms criss-cross land’s scape, …in midst of daylight’s wane, Reaching out to sweep away …last vestige of the sun, To take control of prairied realm, …another day is done. Then creatures of the night arise, …as darkness comes a calling, In Kroeker’s pond bull frogs sound forth, …to herald nighttime’s falling, From far away a coyote’s howl. …pierces through the night, Darkness bringing forth her minions …a great horned owl takes flight. Above night’s heaven ope’s her eyes, …to gaze on earth below, A trillion twinkling stars appear, …jeweled gift of night’s bestow Kroeker’s pond now eboned glass, …reflecting welkin’s light, Oh how I gaze in wondered awe, …at coming of the night. |

Not much of this is left to all... but we have it to share... and to behold. |

Wonderfully breath taking...You left me in awe as eyes and ears opened the vision you created to my mind...I love it...*big hugs* |
