the same hell at 6 a.m. empty rooms, playing games in my head booking executive lunches exhaustion curls my hair already even before the vultures begin to vomit their morning catch to their winy children, making no response to the tunes of some nameless weeping bones that pee like a dog on my leg every morning, i turn my computer on they can’t match my face with my name it wasn’t like this, before time started to run my mother weeps with bed time stories and wets the bed like a mature lunchtime slug, leaching off drugs the cartel’s sniff her pockets, lined with wrinkling skin, screaming beneath flag stones pushing grey hair aside, arms of osteoporosis leaving them half dead & torn, hungry limbs wailing from dark rooms of society thickening mucus with words like research wandering eyes of stripped gardens less loud, their compost, reeking stinking flesh head hunters of happiness believing their saving lives for Jesus? to them, leadership is an email to their broker weeps no shame before eating off some helicopter pad, of man kind’s dreams their noise producing side effects like some bird flu pandemic listed in medical journals where satan sets them free nagging for more samples, the care givers follow a passage of bowl movements their own…. oh yeah, cancer plays stick ball in the underworld as a role model guide for an extended tour right into someone’s 401(k) while they ignore feedback off of some political employee evaluation… and the leaders can’t match faces with names yes, nobody knows, true value of mourning cept the patients in some old folks home must be some wild awakening when they realize that third eye died a long time ago, while butchers minced diseases they catch your dreams & throw away blood screaming for donations, to an employee giving campaign with some invitation to an autumn cruise in some hospital bed, filled with their own waste where pneumonia whispers cold on their face wearing diapers and bed sores that mock some euphoric retirement they were supposed to own body snatchers of the drug world can’t match up faces with the names novelists underestimating mud slides clicking their heels 3 times down some slimy yellow brick road while singing tra la la private practice, rattled death bones seated before architects of old age homes a managed care of self induced polio, singing tv commercials “all the sickly first”! closing up their shore homes for the summer never having to re enter their username or password to them, leadership works from home every Friday they can’t match up faces with the names while my mom coughs up blood from that stinking room, on her cruise through the portal of aarp someday Kari, I just may write that book while on this cruise... ![]() |

Raw and filled with emotion...ya gotta love this poem of gritty, human feelings and harsh situations... I feel the course of loving blood flow across its lines, and the waves of frustration eminating from the writters brain I third startimes second .. making the "damn" unanimous. ------------ice ><> [This message has been edited by ice (08-13-2005 07:14 AM).] |

Sometimes when I read you, I can only smile in admiration, before I think, "she and I would be dangerous together." ![]() and man, when the rage gets contagious, watch 'em dole out the paxil and zanax...and a little clonopin? *shrug* A perfect patient who never complains. ![]() Loved this, Lee. |

LeeJ...first, I am sorry your mother is ailing. Second, this is an extraordinary social write!!! There are soooo many anaologies and truths in it, I cannot ennumerate. You are right on the money (forgive the pun). And I am outraged...have been for several years (after I began to wake up). Brava, lady, brava! ![]() PS: Although I never worked for the pharmaceutical industry, this still sounds alot like a big corporation where I used to work. |

Lee, this write packs one hell of a punch! I know where you are coming from, I have seen it myself. You use writing to sound off, my plan would put me in jail, hope everything works out, Steve. |
