Yawning in my mouthspace
I breathe you in
regardless of
stale breath,

but sweeter still
your skin is sleeping
on mine

Porcelain jigsaw limbs
are hazy in heat
as mid afternoon
wiggles through the blind,

I cannot move
the lasting poison
of laziness
smothers shallow breathing

I wouldn't move
even if I could
so as not to wake your skin.....

on mine

Porcelain jigsaw limbs
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ahhh Gem..that line of personifi is poetic gold...
as is the expressions defined in those last 2 verses.....you captured so much imagery and emotion in this poetic vignette..
tis so good to read you again girlie.
I'll bare the brunt of your long buried pain
I don't mind helping you out ...
But I want you to remember my name
  How have you been Gemma?
JM stole my favorite line...
Sleeping with the warmth of anothers skin...a perfect moment..
and you said it well.
England's finest rose has finally returned! Hiya, Gem Drop! I darn near sent my angel posse after you! But after reading this sultry poem, I'm glad I didn't! I wouldn't have wanted them to disturb you ~ or get any notions in their angel heads!
Loveya, Gemma!
Hey, Little One!! It sure is good to see you, Sweetie!!
I hope all is well with you. I haven't been around PIP a
lot lately, but I think of you often.
I enjoyed this poem, Gemma, and  LOVE  the way
my Gsry's "skin sleeps on mine". And, oh yes,
it is  VERY  sweet!!   LOL
Take care, Little One.
I never know how to properly respond to poems that I like without sounding like a dork. So I'll play it safe with the "I love this" and with the "you paint a bittersweet picture with your words" how does that sound? all sincere of course.
If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.
