I MISS YOU, CHAD

It’s been ten years, this very day,
Since you left this Earthly sod,
And rose up through Saint Peter’s gates,
To sit at foot of God.

You joined an angel choir,
So that I might hear you sing.
~ Tho’ now you wear a halo,
And a pair of golden wings.

I miss your freckled, smiling face,
And hugs beyond compare.
Your laughter filled me up with joy,
And washed away my cares.

An athlete destined to be pro,
You won the best and most.
Yet you were such a humble lad,
And felt no need to boast.

You excelled at everything you did,
And made our family proud.
I miss you Chad, I truly do,
Since you rose to highest cloud.

You visit us from time to time,
And make your presence known.
You’re here for us, when we're in need,
Then have back to heaven, flown.

I feel inside, an emptiness,
That never goes away.
But loving memories keep me warm,
And get me through each day.

Linda i saw your post on Chad in passions in prose and was very interested in the ''spooky''aspect of how he is with you. I am sure that he would be very proud to have a poem written for him in this way..and i am equally sure that he has seen this and will thank you ''in person'' himself....thank you..

Linda, the sensitivity of your family and of Chad becomes a grain in time, perhaps crosses over, for just a little while, love, never ever dies....hugs to you my dear lady, and to yours, as well.

Dear Rose of Gold, Chad's spirit is very strong. The late, world-renown psychic, Dorothy Allison (had made numerous appearances on several TV shows ~ Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted etc., said Chad had an exceptionally powerful spirit. It was so powerful that she could not tell whether he was reaching her from on this plane or from beyond. This was one of the few cases that she had been unable to solve.

God bless her, she in now in spirit as well.

Yes, indeed. ~ My heart does flow from this piece. Chad had so much potential and we all miss him beyond belief. My sister had previously lost her daughter, Kelly, when she was a baby. God has two of his angels back Home with Him.

This is a beautiful story and a beautiful tribute to your lost boy. I can't imagine the perpetual pain of losing a child, as they are never far from our thoughts.

Yes, it is beyond comprehension. My sister has lost two children ~ Chad and Kelly (several years earlier). We tend to be over-protective of her remaining child. We have to make a conscious effort to "let go and let God" when it comes to him and to my own children.

Yes, Dixie, it does "ache" but time has a way of softening the pain ~ but one never forgets. Faith in the hereafter has kept us all moving forward with our lives ~ and he continues to be a part of our family...

Chad's visits have confirmed to our family, that the spirit truly does survive the corporeal death.

Chad is not a ghost ~ he truly is a free spirit.

Thank you. So many lives were affected by the loss of these young lives. Spring break foolhardiness can wreak such havoc and devastation. Going off in boats at night onto the frigid waters of Lake Ontario ~ to never return home again...
