BROKEN

Did I lose my chance for love
when I stepped aside?
I see you're with another
and it makes me want to hide.

Hide my heart from all the guys
so I can't get hurt.
I've loved and lost so many...
I'm starting to feel like dirt.

The dirt in which you walked on
as you turned away.
My heart's in broken pieces
and it has been since that day.

Wonder if I'll find a way
to mend my tattered heart.
Will take glue of super strength
and a Master at His art.

Once it's fixed...will God grant love
for this heart of mine?
Or will my heart be empty
until the end of time?

You heart lies tender and bare here - I believe there is love for everyone - but it comes to us more easily once we learn to love ourselves and then give it away unconditionally -

Susan, I seem to give love away more easily than it comes to love myself...still working on that though. Wonder if I have never fully loved before because I didn't love myself. Hmmm...does make me wonder.

Sorry you have to and have felt this...truly is a terrible experience, isn't it? Hopefully though...it isn't an experience that goes without a lesson. Learning great lessons from this...even to this day. THANK GOD for that...wouldn't want it to be all for nothing.
