The Audacity of Love - The Sun bore through the darkness, Deep into my mind, Unaware perhaps, Of the sadistic pleasure it would grind, Into a base so gross and discomforting, That I might draw the light and the darkness as one, To bear it as a gift, As deep as my love, As unique as my feelings, Just to make your acquaintance. Could we fly across the universe, So we could become one, Reaching the vastness, Where space becomes undone, And there, like men maddened by war, We would brave all peril For our one and only – each other, And be together, Like sister, or brother. |

Luke, I don't think I've had the pleasure of reading your poetry until now. Just wanted you to know I enjoyed. Especially fond of: "Could we fly across the universe, So we could become one, Reaching the vastness, Where space becomes undone, And there, like men maddened by war, We would brave all peril For our one and only – each other, And be together, Like sister, or brother." Thanks for posting. miscellanea |
