at the side of sky
where clouds are soldiers
guarding night
and her skeleton trees

there runs obscure
the river mist of phaedra
bore above the ground
she currents her spirits

drawing dreamships
with their tall masts
and billowed bosoms
onto her tides of pyre

she is the demon's beckon
the siren's saliva
that marks the mouth
of an innocent dawn

and whispers banshee breathe
to the morrows throat
she is the velvet guillotine
that fears only the light

of a saviors reckless sun
