Forever My Love Fall leaves of red and brown must surely die, While silver Christmas snow too soon will melt. When beauty’s lost so tenderly we cry, Forlorn from loss of glee and gladness felt. Our days of youth so swiftly slip away, While memories of what once was sustain. A golden sunrise ushers in each day, Then slowly fades till only night remains. If you must go I’ll miss each morning’s dawn, That brought some chance of gazing on your face. To be with you I gladly played love’s pawn, And purchased joy that time may ne’er erase. Your love provides me peace to never ease, As constant as the summer’s softest breeze. |
