She walked from forest green
Through the dank of the shadows,
Into places heard but never been,
A walk wasting one tomorrow.
The pavement cracked and stained
Had never been white as her dress
Which was pure as a spring rain
She of blue eyes and golden tress.
In the shadowed land of blood red brick
Was his fortress and a silent home
Windows bars held strong and thick
Where the shadow wizard lived alone,
She came to explore his mind
Learning things beyond the light
They talked with flowing glasses of wine
Beyond sleep deep into the heart of night.
Till with heavy eyes she did doze
Listening to his words spoke so calm
Dreams overtook her before the dawn
And at daybreak from sleep she arose
Her Own soft bed she rested upon.
Sunbeams dispersing all the shadows.
