Still I Dance Alone

so many eyes filled with
stars and ponderings of love
who sit enrapt beneath charmed
breath hoping

I enter among them, plain of janes

with no less heart or specialty
but maybe more knowledge, more
seasons touched

my eyes would shed tears anew
aware I am unpretty among
blossoms as fragrant or prized
as these gracing your court

A daisy I am, black-eyed susan
wild and untamed on the fields
outside your piquant fence
but how I bend wence your voice
reaches zephyr sweet 'pon petals
hungering

so many eyes filled with stars
so many souls hoping fullfillment
of written revelations

and I

enter among them...

The daisy is my favourite flower.

Oh my - am taken back to my youth here - the longing to be a rose, but am only a daisy - do you know, now, I love daisies - they are joyful and full of spunk -
