I do not know the pretty words,
or just how to write them well.
I just battle a demon inside,
that makes my life a living hell.

I do not convey the words,
or speak what's on my mind.
The condition I have is permanent,
and leaves me trapped in time.

I can not express my feelings,
for I don't want to leave despair.
But my thoughts are so disturbing,
I don't deserve to breath the air.

I can not tell the pain I'm in,
for they will take me against my will.
They will put me in a room again,
and make me take more pills.

I have to stop this hurting,
for I can't go another day.
If someone would only stop,
and hear what I have to say.

I have nothing to offer you,
and don't want to give you chills.
But no one hears the silent cry,
of someone who is mentally ill.

For whomever this was written for, just remember this...there will always be listeners and heart huggers within these halls, for these blue halls are filled with passionate poets and readers, and poetry people are known to listen with their hearts as well as their ears.
(And we each have our own demons to chase)
