I changed the wallpaper plate
on my mind table
your cake and eat it too
still was melted sticky
like snow on my beard

but I needed a frisbee then
more than memories
and once the other dogs had tasted
I knew I would never get it back
and it wouldn't be proper too

to ask for second time seconds
when there were toothmarks
in the relationship
but I miss the spoon
that you made a ring from

and how the neighbors smiled
when you washed the windows
in your swimsuit
and I wish we would have had some
windows of our own

but then again we were just trees

I get the sense of a long-legged, silky red-haired

labrador...having the time of her life with that frisbee...

Smiling at how you twist a scene just so...

"when there were toothmarks
in the relationship"

love that line...some relationships leave toothmarks and others take a chunk out of you.

this has some amazing stuff in it - love how your mind works and the word play it spills -

~sighing~ now I'm lost in memoryland...days of frisbees in the surf, salty air and sticky sand clinging to wet bodies, sunsets to live for

see what this write has triggered?
