you were a sunset vanilla
with tennis shoes
and a peace sign

but my eyes were at war
with just wanting more

then pretty painted nails
and could be promises
that were potato chips picnics

in someone else's yard
with cellophane fencing

we drank in the wind wine
with separate mouths
but mine wanted yours

and the sip flavors
it smiled between amazement

and the prophesy of daydreams
