Breathing shallow
underground
sheltered away

praying

for altered thoughts
silence surrounds
absent your voice

saying,

"love you, always..."
tenderheart pounds
wishing you were

staying

gambled it all
put every card down
good-bye is the price

I'm paying

parties & lights
smile of a clown
my own foolish heart

betraying

when end this day?
sadness abounds
& death seems to be

delaying...
