In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2005-06-26 10:41 PM

The earth takes what we can not
give  back

the walk of the faithless
splitting the soul

and I wonder why time
                hurts

the chill has changed the inside of me
being alone with my own darkness
of our past behind your eyes

I wish I could show
you the south sky
at dusk
shades of warmth and color
all the spaces between
show you our memory of life
when we were happy
until the indigo prism shattered

now:

--the ache of hand and stone &
shadows that never last

the deepest longing can shape you
taking form beneath fragile fingers

but:

I never considered the distance between heart and mind,
between each pulse lies the lost angel
in shallow darkness
sleeping awake while the dream ends
rising in horizontal faith

you were searching for smaller things
             boxes of broken edges --
light against  walls,
                       captured where you stood--
through ashes   watching    gray
hit          the floor

the earth will move again   & I will think of you --

of fate sometimes and what
it means   to renew

I am here waiting for whispers
where corners once bent

remembering:

even raindrops search
for beauty they once had

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

Ah yes, 'if dreams were wishes and wishes came true'. Just lovely Lauren. hugs, Chris

hugs dear...this gave me chills, and is so like a touch of memory and pain...but in the light of things, I'm understanding, dreams are only a day away...

Hugs you, and thank you for another terrific write...your awesome at describing the sweet core of things...
