JUDGE THIS!

Respect comes in a little packet of typed words you can't buy on ebay,
Who cares anyway – ‘coz we're all gay,
Oh that's a harsh word or did he mean it in a good way?
Why's it matter! Just listen to what they've gotta say anyway.
What's all this high culture bull and sugar-coated lunacy,
When all people wanna do is release some thoughts for others to see,
This judging the person before listening to their words is hypocrisy,
All it would take is for someone to complain that you're mean,
Not worth it though - because the words will be taken too literally,
Then when the connection of words get a little bit tougher to understand,
It's time to either reject the words or reject the man,
Well so be it because this man is driven with anguish,
Not someone that can be brushed off with that ignorant swish,
Incompetent youth need help, and not to be served on a rejection dish,
Unlike me not everyone's as strong, have people ever bothered to think that long?
But yet you compare everyone's character and words to the same song,
The world would be a magical place if we all just got along,
In the fantasy realm where we all sit round a camp fire eating fudge,
Try to understand what one man is saying or reject it, because as always, you (are the) judge.

Sorry....I'm the first to admit I do not do constructive critiques, but I do understand where you are coming from. There are all kinds of poets here at PIP...some serious...some not so serious....and if you're around here very long, you will see that you will find what you are looking for. I see poetry as art, and I think it is very difficult to judge...you make that point well (but this statement is not a judgment). The words either speak to me or they don't. Welcome to PIP....I did enjoy reading this very direct piece.
