Sunday Thoughts 2005

It's all in the missing,
a note here, photos there
childhoods gone
to touch only
with fingerips on scalloped edges
when we were little
and you had curls rivaling
my baby twisted one on top...

*~~~*

I received a birthday greeting
from my "bestess" brother-in-law
as he put it
(although he is my only one)
and I know today is almost a harder day
than tomorrow will be and I know
I am remembered for the wrong reason
on this day...and the tears will absorb
the pain and loss
and the aloneness I feel
lacking the needed support...

*~~~*

Today will come and go
but tomorrow, well tomorrow
will always be...
a day of missing.

well, Sy...it's the first anniversary of my Sister's death... not sure one can be that happy especially when it occurs on my birthday. But I am thinking good thoughts
looking at old family photos.

I am so sorry for this very deep loss. I wish you well and hope that your memories of the good times shared sustain you today.

Maureen, it is always more difficult when we lose a loved one on a special occasion. But please know this, in some ways your sister is even closer to you on your birthdays than she could possibly have been while she was still physically with you.

Every anniversay of your birth will have a special blessing in spite of the loss you will be reminded of.

God bless you and your angel sister.

Such a bittersweet day it must be for you, my friend, the two inescapable constants of life -  birth and death - both represented on the same day. The only advice I can give you is to celebrate her life as well as your own in the same way you would want someone to celebrate yours after you're gone.

You have my thoughts today
