I wish you
concupiscent milk,
from cows, that if they defecate
pile the meadows
with chocolate
as sweet as France could find.

With mile on mile
of orange groves
whose fruit, at night beneath the stars,
toward morning work
to squeeze their selves
to pails of smooth liquor.

And big farm boys
to bale the hay,
sweating bare-chested on summer days,
whose breasts heave large
with heavy sighs
beneath their poesied gazes.

The sun is low
upon the rows,
its waning light a soft adieu

whose lambent sense,
as aureole,

allows you now . . .
to dream.

Where I live now, used to be just that...I used to visit here on trips with my parents, calling it, "the country".  Most of the orange trees are gone now, given way to ranch style homes and low slung concrete.

I like the way you write!

I'm so confused (as my name happens to be Karen) but I am nonetheless amused, too.

Even if it's not for me, I have to wonder--

"concupiscent milk,"

with CHOCOLATE no less!

I enjoyed this glimpse into your whimsical side, John.

Very much enjoyed.
