Lilies

I press these words to my heart
knowing what good it would do.
A year's words, mere thoughts
on a June day, missing you.

The Lilies bloom, leaning my way.
The tallest of ever, a gift on this day.

Sharing their beauty, a morning's surprise.
As I walk their attention, with these hazel eyes.

I have come this far, the year's ending for me.
Too much left behind, a future's "will see".

So press these words to my heart,
for I believe in true love.
A year's words, mere thoughts,
  Lilies blossoming, thereof.

couldn't resist showing how beautiful they are this year...

This is just my side yard outside the fence...  I have inside yard gardens and the front one that is just beautiful this year(despite the weeds that I am working on)

I only transplanted these day lilies last year.
They must love the strange weather we have had.

Maureen, they are beautiful and deserving of your equisite writing.  They remind me of my granmother's place in the summer when I was a child.   .....jo

Truly lovely, Maureen, and how strange that I wrote about a lily today - a different lily in a different land described in a totally different way ... but that's life - similar but different.     Guess I should post it now.

...in homage to a memory held dear...  Though the details are kept to self, the feeling comes across as vividly as the lilies colors -- a bittersweet sentiment we've all shared in our own ways...

Little Mo darling heart this is simply divine, I love it. the flow is beautiful, and the pictures are perfect. What a delight to see you on these pages blue, I know I don't get here enough these days, but you try typing in the library and see how much you get done. The weather here is stormy, which is a blessed relief from the heat we have been suffering from for the last week or so. Almost reminds me of Florida, although we don't ever get that hot, but its definitely almost as muggy.

Anyway this beautiful poem is a sheer delight and makes me wish I visited here a lot, lot more. I'll try to get back soon

Love you muchly

What a treat for the eyes and soul!

I love day liles. Every year I looked forward to the day lilies coming in to bloom in my gardens. Their orange and yellow colours are so joyful to behold!

I enjoyed your poem and your photos!

Happy summer hugs,
Linda
