From That Day Forth

In a relationship no one has ever taken
my freedom away, for if I am with a
woman I desire I freely give her my heart.
To give someone my love is never a loss.
If anything, everything is gained.

She loved to tell me that she loved me
but I knew that her words were untrue,
when she started telling me that she
felt trapped and needed her freedom.
I told her this, "I'm not stopping you."
From that day forth, I never felt
the same about her.

Thank you passing and scorpio for the nice responses...I'm taking this well because it happened long ago...after awhile acceptence comes more easily...James

Glad to see that this isn't something that just happened, and you are correct my friend - time does have a way of making acceptance a little sweeter on the heart
