To be a poet- write the words; If I adore thee- say the words- and write the place I be, it is thy will, thy image of the altered eye- dost thou ask the question in a worried tone To be a poet- to write what could not be. I have a soul- thou dost not see; to have a spirit- believe in what we could not see- then poetry comes the making of sense, to dream- to dream be it not in sleep- then in our heads the daydream the knowing of the word that never seems to be. |
