I AM

I am a warrior at heart, a dreamer of dreams
I wonder if regrets will change anything
I hear the blackbirds call, on many a night
I see the shadow, just inside the light
I want to know the good, without the bad
I am a warrior at heart, a dreamer of dreams

I pretend that I have wings... and fly
I feel sad when I know, a dream has died
I touch petals of sand, and rocks of cloud
I worry I won't ever speak my truths aloud
I cry on nights, nights like these
I am a warrior at heart, a dreamer of dreams

I understand pleasure never comes without pain
I say give me some sun, after the rain
I dream crazy things, in slumber of write
I try not to slip, I hang on tight
I hope one day I understand me
I am a warrior at heart, a dreamer of dreams

Oh how you do understand....so very well. I think you're absolutely correct in this poem, and I'm glad you were strong enough to say these things.
