‘Tis but tears fall for a reason,
Be it happiness, or in pain-
hath thy heart been broken
or made whole again,
The years of a shadowed love-
thee saw only from a distant stare
hath been forgotten in the fever of the day.

O! Now care for me not in summers warmth-
hath little knowledge drained thy mind!
Pulling at those strings attached to memories,
the passion read in romance books-
shall be no more than dreams dreamt by hearts
nor am I that knight in shining armour!
Just a man that stares back from afar;
two petals never fall in the same place.

’Tis not my thought of dreams afloat
that keeps me held between the clouds-
but the thoughts of you without closed eyes
whom dream of me without the night,
Oh the thrill of the butterfly kiss-
that flutters away at the slightest hint
of more than just a kiss!
Feelings gushing-with the smell of flowers-
that hath wither’d and died in the moment
shall I approach from a different point of view?
O! Lie me down to die without a heart;
’Tis this heart that brings me trouble.

With the ages of the snow’s to follow-
shall I see footsteps upon the grave of my heart
in conversation small talk as some say,
Shall bring another chance another day-
With haste I have failed to please thee
yet thee hath failed to please me,
shall we only look from a distant stare once more-
or give into the plenty game of love
and stay where we'd lay within the dark.

Perhaps some day two petals might fall in
the same place, huh?  Nicely done!
