Listening to every heart

The Request

I need you to come, not on the 27th, but on
August 20th, we moved the wedding up
one week…

I need you to be there.  I need you to take

the photos!

Circled in and runeing out
from this hold, old bit of dampish gray
BAM the hit of home runs home,
fifty-five years ago, that day…

and still a dream in someone’s eye,
still a hold in play,

somewhere in mine own
cellar of disorder, tombs float, yet
there I’ll be, that day…

as black and white those images
and less was more back then,
a daughter’s love transferred to man,
and images of when
all stood straight and tall and proud
victorious some would say,

the mother and the father smiled
as they gave their daughter away,

but it was only pictured “show”
and none were there to tell,
how it feels when losing one
how it feels like hell.

Yes, I will be there for this child
whose mama is one good friend…
for I was there for mama, yes,
and photo’d her new begin…

now daughter wants me there as well,
to pictorialize….but what is hurting me right now,
are facts I can’t disguise,
so when wedding bells are pealing
and images occur,

In the cellar of disorder, [where] the tombs [of love]
[might] float,

I’ll hear your voices, sure.

~*~

Had they lived a bit longer, some days
or so more, August 20, 2005,
would have been my parents own
55th wedding anniversary.

To those that understand the need
to remember, thank you.

Karilea~

bonded always, this is priceless!

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

How very touching!  Though great happiness is felt for the present, there's a solomn memory.  You've put it together so nicely.

I'm always overwhelmed when I hear of such long "times together"!

And your very beautiful write confirms this, I am deeply touched.

This caught my eye, and my heart. This poem has something one can feel.

Thank you.

The words flow out perfectly, Karilea!  Another thing we have in common!  Can you believe that my parents' anniversary would have been that same day!

Enjoyed your poem very much!
