The Empty Room The room is empty except for a desk, chair where the writer once sat composing words she loved. The drapes are now pulled, silence fills the room where once the sounds of keys clicking, paper being wadded up sounded And now no longer will be heard nor the music that once softly played The notebooks now lay neatly in place ready to gather dust as does the pen once held in a gentle hand For her words are no more as that door is now closed to a world she once knew, loved. |

Ella An image of Emily Dickinson popped into my mind when I read this, And a then a vision of Anne Sextons writing room, or perhaps it was the room where Sara Teasdale wrote... anyway, like poetry does to me, it took me somewhere else and I enjoyed the relief from everyday life... ------------------ice ><> |

I can picture her there, writing in soft light. This transported me to another place and time. Well done. |
