Roses, Roses

Lying, among culled roses
in the savage dream of Chieftans,
the truncated wings of a wild dove,
withering, the same death of thorns
drawn inward on the bough,

to the low moan of wild flowers
hung from the torrent solitude
I’ve by bread alone,
come under these distances,
blue, the veins shriek

in both of my hands,
bandaged close to the body,
dreaming black, an avalanche
of wild roses, burn
in the throat

of taut whispers, yes
a whisper, yes,
a nerve of mercurial
silver rivers the palms
pinning wings with the stinging pulp

of grey evenings, an absence
gathered from the jagged folds
of a phantom embrace,
caught in the gentle acoustics
of the cock’s crow, a gift

to claw at my skin,
in some savage dream, I give
you seven hundred kisses,
and then, my tears
to guide your lips, twin

to mine, the hull of the spine
bows into depths, those
you’ve left open for me,
perilous, though they are
against the aching of doves

unfaithful to the body,
dreaming and culled,
from the ardent bough
of roses, roses.

I think I am beginning to see
why I would rather have
a bed of white carnations...

You do grab, and twist, little one.

I so enjoy reading you.

Gosh girl, every word of this is simply electrifing, but this, this I loved

of taut whispers, yes
a whisper, yes,
a nerve of mercurial
silver rivers the palms
pinning wings with the stinging pulp

you are so talented!!!!!

(Loved that!)

Funny, doves are always the source of peace, and also in my dreams they are anything but.

This was G-rate!

this poem is a cascade of images and emotions, violent and ultimately lonely.  I like it very much.
