Would that a dream could hop on a breeze and magically fly far away over there beyond the reach of the barren and bare like leaves as they fall off an old winter tree. Vulnerable in the cold I stand as that tree alone the receiver of dream energy that cuts and forges a path through denial and makes of goodbye a surefire mockery. Gone are the times of belief in mystique but rather a “me” chasing after a need seeking so in a dream some succor for soul and the rightful return of love’s permanence. Surely the reason for dreams seeming real must hover above earth’s dusty plateau on the moon perhaps or an illustrious star where fantasy spins a web out of steel. Caught and I bleed into these present times the pleasure and pain of soul’s frank honesty … but everyone knows the soul’s only a dream in the throes of a fantasy just like me! |

Helen Dreams do fly as does your soul...I can feel it's energy whenever I read your poetry! |

Caught and I bleed into these present times the pleasure and pain of soul’s frank honesty … but everyone knows the soul’s only a dream Your title is perfect and your poem is a beauty. But those couple lines really did it for me. |

Thanks Martie, Bluesy, and Jo, for the read. When one is too old to dream yet still there's that energy it surely must be a trick of belief or a sideshow for only the weak ... I guess. |

Thanks, Jo, and Dixie, for the read. I love the word "dream" because it can have so many interpretations and perhaps can never be fully defined. |
