And in the tick of space
between pendulum swings
when there is an apogee of arc
that for the eternity of one thousandth of a heartbeat
holds all suspended in weightless
wait...
before the fall again to rise on the other side
of some pivot pointer design
to divide such halves
that make one whole
yet still must keep apart

in that moment
I find suspended my own spill of words
weighted
as with the clockfaced refuse left
I thought behind

and I dare to think of how
on some upswing against grave gravity
there is a twin place
and when but the memory
of my own moment resides
in shattered elapsed time
stained with bitter tears

the other too will know some glimpse
of the way two such moments strung
along the thin line of thought might
just might
be enough for some
lost part of you or me to hold
one more time...
onto one less time
subtracted from the metronomic drone

tick tick tick tick
tock tock tock tock

separate it comes in cyclical bleed
of mainsprings and quartz that deafens ears
on quiet days when no one wants to leave
and both halves are disjointed
to the sweep of seconds
round and round as hours go
one more now
one less then

still in all the circles run
we find ourselves again

alone

"tick tick tick tick
tock tock tock tock"

I loved the way you demonstrated your meaning, so simply and yet the seperation of the tick and tock, illustrated the twinning perfectly.

and may it rain all summer I say.

It suits me.

I have several antiquated timepieces
with their eternal, maternal, paternal
tick of time, and while I have never found
just the right tock
to display the emotion,
let me let you know, please,
that it is
thus.

And I thank you for the gift of tock.

Lady Sunshine...

the gift or the curse? sometimes I wonder which indeed it is...

but if it pleased your eyes and the thoughts you wove around it thus..then you are more than welcome for the gift..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nobody hits a nerve like you do, or tugs at the heart so hard.
Really enjoyed reading this Cpat, that verse especially...and this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
still in all the circles run
we find ourselves again

alone
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And nobody says it better than you do!
Gosh, it's always so good to read you.
