There's a strong right-cross in that poem! This is a good example of minimalism and the principal that often, less is more. These words tap into a culture, into many pasts and reveal the sad truth that all too many women are beaten into submission, no matter whether the club is physical or not. If this has been your walk, take hope that what is learned can be unlearned. With the power to speak of a situation comes the power to change. Bravo. never try to teach a pig to sing |

Thanks guys, you know how much I appreciate it. I have a friend, in her 80's, and sometimes she says something about the way she was raised that makes me want to go 80 years in the past and shoot her parents. But what can you do? And sometimes I see the same thing around me in younger women, and it makes me want to cry. Because, what can you do? Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
