It Could Happen

Never close enough

My dearest love,
I have never seen your face
yet I have been touched by
the same sun, and moon
that adds to your beauty
for as many years as I have
been on this earth.

I have gazed at the same stars
night after night, wondering
where you were at that exact
moment in time, and I pondered -
do you know that I seek your
face among those that pass
on the busy streets which
I travel each day?

I have learned your face
through what others have told me
yet I have comfort in knowing
that If I ever actually met you
I would know without doubt
that you were the one that
I have been searching for all
these years, among all these faces

I count the years now that I
have been composing my letters to you
so many by number, yet so small
In attempts to realize this dream
onto which I hold so dear to my heart
the dream - of finding you.

I know that you exist, for if you did not
my dreams of you would not be so
vivid, and true to my own heart and soul
some will tell you that I am a hopeless romantic
waiting on someone that does not exist,
In response for that I would answer -

“Just because he has never been seen,
certainly doesn’t mean that he is not
among us” -

I will never let you go my darling
or the dreams that I have of you
and what would be a perfect life
If only I could finally stop dreaming
the dream, and begin living my life
with you…
