Standing in wait these memories I promised to forget Yet the ache deep inside reminds me that I haven't let go yet Weary, this heart of mine Twisting pain tightly wrapping vines Senses tickled by yesterdays gone by and by Still they linger and leave me dry My mind screams no more yet the chords don't chime along All this, and that, and choices gone wrong My chin lives on my shoulder looking back trying to see What it was that I loved when I thought I really knew me Can't say that I'm lost when I don't know my direction I'm basically just stuck in this cloud of regretted reflection I may hate myself in the morning - but I'm gonna love you tonight -Lee Ann Womack |
