CONNECTED

We are all in this turning  world together
And the same moon lights our summer nights
We’re holding hands, through distant space between us
We are sisters of the spinning satellites

We never met, yet somehow I feel your essence
In your words laid across a shimmering screen
Distance melts in the silver iridescence
Just as snow melts to summer fields of green

        The differences are growing dim
The chance of war is growing slim
We’re linked by stars that spin in space
We're sisters of the human race

And God is watching over you and me
        Separated by a mighty sea

I never saw you, yet I know what you are thinking
Just like me you would like to be my friend
Light my life when your fantasies are blinking
Through the crystal windows of delight

Touch the keys and we all become one nation
Touch my heart with the beauty of your name
Your phrases sift through the filters of translation
And our languages all become the same

       The differences are growing dim
The chance of war is growing slim
We’re linked by stars that spin in space
We're sisters of the human race

And God's aware of every flow and ebb
Of hearts connected by a fragile web

It's true yanno, I would love to be your friend.

This reminded me of something said in a favorite movie of mine--"Phenomenon" where the character George Malley played by John Travolta asks a crowd if they knew what the largest living organism was on Earth. He answered for them, "It's a grove of Aspens."

He further explained that they only appear to be seperate, but are actually all connected by one single root system underground. He said that the human race was like that too.

Hugs, Lady Liz, for your grace and understanding.

A most enjoyable read but "Of hearts connected by a fragile web" I think that perhaps the web is stronger than we can imagine.  In fact, I think there is a lot more that we just cannot imagine but time will tell no doubt.  Thank you for reminding me of what I truly believe but sometimes forget.
