Feelings I Could Live Without

After not being there for her,
emotionally and affectionately,
she said (truthfully) that I drove
her into the arms of another man,
and then I didn't want to forgive
her for dating another man, so as
she sensed my anamosity, she
became more determined to hurt me,
and dated more men and then I
started thinking, that if she
didn't want to be with me, why
should I want to be with her,
and then I started trying to find
someone else, and as is the usual
in this situation, the kids suffered
for the sins of their parents.

We must all go through such trials, only to become better people ourselves. I hope you learned from the situation and have become a better man, not for the one whom you dream of, but rather for yourself. Your poetry reminds me of all I have written. Check them out sometime. So many times you have impressed me with your honesty and your courage. It is not always easy to look deep into one's self and see the imperfections as well as the perfections. A toast to best of times ahead, especially fueled with great knowledge. A "can't miss", I think.

Yes I too am glad it was a long time ago...yet sometimes still fresh in my memory...as the years passed I have managed to make major improvements in some areas and minor in others....always seems to be a strong man...James
