Just a frictional mouse cupped by hand
Stubborn on the mouse pad
As it  makes a stand.

Could it be a little sticky there
Where a popdrop may have spilt?
J-u-s-t think I’ll see  how the dang thing’s built!

“Oh no, it’s an optical mouse, one that can see!"
Where’s the ball bearing, one I can clean?
A mouse without balls?

Technology... Sure it has the best of me!
But between mice and men?  Well then,
For a little longer, hold high the chin.

Such acute humor...and smiling...
creative and delightful write.
Just as the author herself.

miscee, you have such a delightful wit and you are so full of charm and creativity.

~ and your muse is very amusing!

I have a cordless optical mouse but I miss mice with balls! I seemed to have more control over mice with ball than the ones  with eyes! lol

Robert Burns (of mice and men) was a friend of my family! Seriously! Two of my great, great, great, great, great grandfathers were friends of his and were also his pallbearers. The daughter of one and the son of the other married and their son was my great, great, great, great grandfather!

I love reading poems that depict snippets of your life!

Hugs with love,
Linda

My dear, in this modern world what you need's a rat, not a mouse..... no missing parts here!
