Are you going to die?
Is death the thief
poised to steal my breath
the instant it takes yours?

I’ve a lump in my throat
and my heart is sore
I’m so filled with dread
I can’t take much more

From my depths I cry
please give me relief
and whisper “all’s well”...
even if you have to lie

You sure know how to convey your sense of foreboding. It was palpable! I could really feel it. Whoever was the focus of this poem, I send them healing love ~ and keep some for yourself as well, my friend. You sound as though you need some emotional healing.

God bless you both,
EA

"even if you have to lie"

Wow very good
sometimes the lie can comfort even if you
know it's a lie ,when the
teller wishes it were true.

Oh do I ever know this feeling~~oh yes! Not long ago I had a friend drop out, go silent on me, and you'd be amazed if I told you all the things I thought up to explain it! When things got straight again it was a huge relief, but not nearly enough to make up for all the angst. I hope you at least get that much out of this!

There you go again, writing so well that I forget the poem itself, and center on the message it brings. That's the mark of true quality, you know, to write in a way that is completely transparent to the reader -- and you have.

suthern,

It's as if you have scraped out fear workings of my inner mind.  You sure have a way of doing this!  Wishing you a faster peace, but sooner or later, it'll come.  Until then, just know that you aren't alone.
I really like how you get down to the core.

     hugs,
   miscee

Ruth

I suspect this is a common feeling, I know I have felt it; but you do manage to capture it in a masterful way, with all the emotion within.  Wishing you peace.

I remember that time...
yet I knew truth
would even overcome
the lie sooner than I
would ever care to admit,
so I grasped the truth
of it all,
and dealt with it all
differently
than had I accepted
the lie.

I am sure, Ruth, that
this is opening windows of wisdom
and introspection in vast and varying
ways for all of your readers...

and that is exactly
what excellent poetry
is all about.

Oh ... this reaches down deeply ...~

Is it any wonder I think of you at times you're 'vibing' ?

Be well ... be loved ...~

The feeling looms and the unknowing is often times, all consuming.

You express yourself in so many wonderful ways, suthern gal~

'foreboding' is one of the heaviest words in the english language
sending hugs and prayers
