my own little world

standing before this full length mirror
your face in a frown
head bowed down
droplets hesitating, falling
to old grey sneakers

wishing for a moment
that everyone would love you
that she would be the woman you need
and everything would be ok
just for the moment

sleeping in a jacket and tie
on the unmade bed you always hate
never left for town
cuz your feeling down
droplets streaming
to dreams that you're falling

almost too tired to move
shaking, hesitating
morning at the threshold of your curtains
you follow the dreary
pacing trail of your own footsteps
engraved in carpet
to the door of this house that owns you
to find

the only thing that kept you from leaving
was thought of rejection
so unbearable,
weeping even when your face is dry

finally resisting the will of your hand
to lock the door,
it turns the handle,
you will your feet to move
step, by step, by step.

millions of steps transfer to miles
miles it takes to find another door
suddenly at a church, inside,
saying "I do" not to a daughter of eve
but to the son of Man,
calm,
he gently heals wounds that no doctor could touch
saving you from icolation, seperation

he lifts your head
loving you as a child
your tears now his,
his embrace is yours

and finally, it feels good to be alive.

How can I stand here and not be moved by you? - Lifehouse

ditto, adding, it is the fears which overtake and control...and upon realizing, there is nothing to fear in allowance, more so, a great open ness of understanding and value...this to me, was an amazing write...
