From your sweet lips I harvest shadows’ tears,
Pure dew drops on the parquet of my soul;
I tread softly, and there your face appears
Where your song of love within my heart does toll;
There a candle’s flame so brightly shines; it casts
A golden glow, where no light had been —
Yet unquenched remains through the torrid blasts
Of catabatic wind, that sweeps unseen
Through the weathered shutters of my heart —
There your sweet voice sings a nightingale’s song,
So clear and bright, my heart’s red sea does part —
And now your voice and mine combined belong:
As one combined our song shall reach the stars
In passions’ ageless and immortal bars.

One of the things I like best
about good poets, are when
they throw in a word that is
not common in every day language...

and you did just that.

You also wrote a beautiful poem.

Thank you, CG.

A sonnet indeed, and a good one.

never try to teach a pig to sing
it wastes your time AND annoys the pig

You make my heart sing~
You are the song my heart sings,
it is singing this moment~pittter-patter!
hear it beat, cling and clatter?

~Oh how I love the way you weave our magic words!

Spellbinding~Thank You!

Sunshine - thank you, I will endeavor to do more....of both.

ARH -

“...hear it beat, cling and clatter?...”

Yes I do - and feel it stone
and mortar ramparts shatter...

Thank you everyone for the kind comments.
